Friday, July 24: Meeting Recap
Jack Kirivong introduced speaker Louie Northern
Our speaker last week was Louie Northern, a stunt driver, pilot, and the CEO of Ascend Aerials, a specialty camera movement company. He gave a presentation about how his company got its start by creating corporate drone videos (for instance, covering the unveiling of the newly named Mercedes-Benz stadium), then pivoting to employing stunt-driving vehicles with a camera arm for film and TV productions. More recently, Ascend developed a new technology, Helix, which is the first universal multi-camera array stabilizer. Louie also offered to give a tour of his stunt-driving car, equipped with cameras, at Ascend’s shop!
We welcomed several visitors:
Muftau Bello, guest of Genevieve Hampton
Joanne Kent, guest of Maria Alvarez
Bailee Yarbrough, guest of Alison Weissinger
Jack Llewellyn and Danny Gershwin, guests of Eric Lucas
Perry Smith, guest of Lawrence Sharp
Jack Brillante, guest of the club and pending new member
