Judges Needed for Laws of Life Contest
Did you know Rotary supports character education in schools? The Georgia Laws of Life Essay Contest asks students to select their own “Law of Life” and write about how it has applied to their lives. In doing so, students reflect deeply and write from the heart about what they think matters most. The contest celebrates the students’ stories and their often profound reflections, and offers significant cash awards to students and teachers.
We need essay judges to read and score essays this month. The commitment is just a few hours and can be done virtually.

Last week, we heard from speaker James Tsismanakis, the executive director of Discover DeKalb, the county’s tourism division. He shared some of the many exciting events and programs happening, including student FIFA ambassadors, a mobile podcast van for collecting oral stories, documentaries about Buford Highway and DeKalb United, and perhaps most exciting – a craft beer trail!
