President Tozzi thanks the club and talks about his vision for the new year.
Decatur Rotary held its "Changing of the Guard" ceremony where we thanked outgoing president, Alan Yorker and welcomed our new president, Mr. Doug Tozzi.
Doug is a graduate of the University of Georgia (B.A. 1998), Mr. Tozzi earned his law degree from Georgia State University in 2002. In the course of obtaining his J.D., he also studied Chinese Law at Hong Kong University and European Union Law at the Institut d’Etudes Européennes of the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Mr. Tozzi is a member of the American Bar Association and the DeKalb Bar Association. He is also a Registered Neutral in General Mediation and Arbitration by the Georgia Supreme Court, Office of Dispute Resolution.
Doug is recognized by peers and was selected to Super Lawyers for 2020 - 2023. This selection is based off of an evaluation of 12 indicators including peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice.

As his first official act, President Tozzi awards outgoing president, Alan Yorker, with an honorary Rotary gavel.

President Tozzi also thanked Alan for his great year of service with a book in his honor.
Doug displays an art piece of Stephen Decatur that Alan gave to Doug as in honor of his incoming presidency. Stephen Decatur is best known for the 1804 action in Tripoli when, as a lieutenant, he and 75 sailors set the captured frigate Philadelphia on fire during a daring raid on Tripoli harbor. Decatur is named for him.
Doug displays the Rotary banner and theme for the new year: "Create Hope in the World."
