Decatur Rotary Kicks Off Its Critical Fundraising Season
Kris Webb and President-Elect Dudley Larus led the kick-off for Decatur Rotary’s fundraising season. They explained the sponsorship plan, showed the sponsorship flyer, and talked about plans for the May 2 fundraising party and event.

Melita Easters Talks About Women in Politics and Women Empowerment
Melita Easters
Melita Easters, our keynote speaker, is a passionate advocate and founder of Georgia WIN List, a political action committee dedicated to electing progressive women to office in Georgia.
With a background in law and advocacy, Easters recognized the importance of female representation in politics and launched Georgia WIN List in 2000. The organization has since played a pivotal role in supporting and endorsing women candidates across the state, helping to break barriers and shatter glass ceilings in Georgia's political landscape.
Georgia WIN List not only provides crucial financial support to women candidates but also offers training and mentorship programs to equip them with the tools and resources necessary for a successful campaign. Through Easters' leadership, Georgia WIN List has contributed to significant gains in female representation in Georgia's government, empowering women to bring their diverse perspectives and experiences to the decision-making table. As a result, the organization continues to be a driving force for positive change and progress in Georgia politics.
Ms. Easters provided many statistics in support of her talk including:
Equal Pay Day: March 24, the additional days women have to work to achieve equal pay to male counterparts.
Equal Pay Day for Latino Women: Oct 3
Georgia has more black women legislators than any other state in the nation
Women own 10 million businesses in the U.S. with more than 1 trillion in revenue.
Melita Easters is a creative strategic thinker and political strategist with deep connections to Atlanta's civic, business and political community.
President Tozzi presented a book, “Bold & Brave: Ten Heroes Who Won Women the Right to Vote” in honor of Ms. Easters to the DeKalb Library System.
